Opening Receptions take place the first Thursday of the month in accordance with First Thursday Laguna Beach. All receptions are free and open to the public.
POLITICS and ART (Online Exhibition)
Subject Matter/Medium: anything Political in nature

Las Laguna Art Gallery is featuring this 9 month long, online exhibition, to explore the role of Art in today's political landscape. This exhibition is looking for any work that the artist considers to be 'political' or politically themed, in nature.
This is an online exhibition that will run from July 1st, 2024 through the end of Dec 2025. The online show will be updated on the 1st and 15th of each month with any new submissions.
Each artist who submits will have at least one image selected for inclusion in the show.
Media can include Acrylic, Airbrush, Alcohol Ink, Assemblage, Charcoal, Color Pencil, Collage, Digital Art, Drawings, Encaustic, Fiber Art, Graphite, Glass Art, Illustration, Jewelry, Mixed Media, New Media, Oil, Painting, Pastel, Photography (Traditional and Digital), Printmaking, Quilts, Scratchboard, Sculpture, Video and Watercolor.

There are several speculative ideas behind abstract art. While a few have taken the proposal of abstract work being 'art for art’s sake' (that artwork should be simply about the creation of striking effects), other people have proposed art can or should be similar to music; in that just as music is patterns of sound, art’s consequence should be created by patterns of form, color and/or line. True abstract art not only utilizes flexibility and freedom; it may also employ bold uses of color, line, pattern, form, process, mark-making and composition.
For this Call for Art, Las Laguna Art Gallery is seeking artists to provide abstract works in a variety of mediums.
Acceptable work includes, but is not limited to: Acrylic, Collage, Color Pencil, Digital Photography, Encaustic, Fiber Arts, Glass Art, Mixed Media, New Media, Oil, Pen and Ink, Printmaking, Sculpture, Traditional Photography, Watercolor and more.
